More like the market "finally got to us".
He only ever bothered with top-10 coins. To have him back would be flattery. Job is done as far as that "contributor"'s concerned.
If that was the case then he would have switched his attention to other top-10 coins (Bitcoin Cash for example) and attacked those, specially with his beloved Monero dropping out of the top 10 coins as well.
His last online activity was dd 4th of July 2019. I think he got out of crypto or something happened to him in RL.
