You don't need to put it online (on online wallet or on desktop/mobile wallet that connected to internet), you can do it offline with bootable linux usb or different device that you'll only use to manage cryptocurrency.
But if you don't know what i mean or never done it before, you better wait until you got new hardware wallet.
