So far so good on my end, though I'm not holding my breath just yet. I applied the update around 2 hours ago, and it
appears that things are running a bit faster. On the original firmware, I ran at around 1.2TH/s (power step '5' since that was the only one that allowed for stability) and the stats always showed one core was dead.
After the update, it seems I'm doing alright at 1.32TH/s (same power step). The stats no longer show the core volts (which is what I used to determine a problematic core to begin with), but now I see...

...the problematic core,
Asic1Core1, is showing a value that's not '0000000000000...', so I figured that's a good sign.
I'll give it another day or two. If all looks well, I'll probably try bumping up the power a little and see how it holds up.
