Eth has many shortcomings, and more then anything else, crypto is about the tech and how the code is used in an ever increasingly more efficient way...
the problem with all blockchains are that they become more static the greater their network effect, and the more static they become, the less likely they are to become the most efficient form of code to fill the needs set by the actual users of the product.
As far as value goes, Im sure that Eth will hold up against its competitors for a while, but as a means of actual transactions or blockchain adoption, its just to rudimentary.
