We probably can answer your question without even needing the country, although it would help. The main countries, (think of countries in the G7 + Russia and China) have a relationship that's steady enough that a rough election cycle with inflammatory mudslinging wouldn't make any difference. The U.S. isn't known to retaliate just because someone got elected. Russia and China don't even have fair elections so I guess you're not referring to them.

Unless you're talking about a terrorist country like Iran (no clue what their election/dictator system is like at all), than the U.S. has no interest in your country's politicians.
