In 2020, and the previous 3 decades: Don't use windows.

If you care and don't want random malware of the day ruining your life (again), just don't handle money or sensitive data with the most insecure OS on Earth. And no, its not because its the most used, its because its garbage. Since its inception security has always been secondary and it shows.

While switching to a decent os (such as Linux) is not the end of it, it is a solid step in the right direction. Without this step, you are on borrowed time.
