I didn't really want to say anything else about whatever else was said. Or I could not. No disrespect intended. I am no philosopher or scholar and don't claim to be. I'll let others debate the details and I'll read and learn.

How can you do that if you do not know what actions in life reap rewards in afterlife?
The actions alleged by some to reap rewards in a potential afterlife are generally those which reap rewards in this life.

Pretty much. I have faith. Be good, generally, whatever 10 commandments or even just the so called golden rule (not the one about he who has the gold makes the rules, the one about doing unto others bit.)
As for God, one of those beliefs is that God allows evil. You are free to choose to do good or evil. He does not make you do either. (oops, already was mentioned by another poster, but hey, I guess I wasn't alone.)
