But the truth is that it's a shame not to be able to embed the videos in the forum.
Eh, I've been enjoying the forum just fine for over five years without members having the ability to embed Youtube or other videos. That might work on some chat boards, but this is bitcointalk. Anything that
can be abused
will be abused--and in the case of embedded videos, especially if lower-ranked members were allowed to do it.
Also, we are preventing other members from trolling with a clickbait image and direct to an unknown source.
Yep, preventing that and I'm sure a whole lot of other abuses that would crop up if it were allowed. It might be an inconvenience for members like OP, but IMO it's much better the way we have it right now.
