Those high rollers almost had nothing to fear.
I guess, what they are thinking is that, if they lose continuously, they will just bring their money back from a single win, given that the bets that they are betting is high.

Sometimes there are such long streaks that can ruin any pocket, so if the high roller does not play at super low stakes, then he has something to fear. Plus, the distance itself, sooner or later, takes away all the money, so if you use all the money for the game, sooner or later you will lose all of it.
It is always be a sure thing when it comes to gambling that you will lost with or without staking high amount of money .
The difference is only on the matter of time as being a high roller means you are staking most of your money out of your bankroll [this actually generalized , sometimes you looks staking high but the actual it is average stake but you have large bankroll]

You will lost it all in short time.

Being small staking player allow you to stay longer, several times managed to have great profit but as time goes by the human nature to become greedy will come haunt you.

The result? You will still lost it all but in longer time.
