Well, common sense has to play a role as well. Is there anyone who thought Patrick Harnett & Pirate were doing honest dealings? I certainly hope not. Pirate came out and said not to trust him several times as well as hinting that he was engaging in illegal activity. Even TradeFortress' lending site didn't pass the sniff test. I also suspected ukyo & graet were trying to get rich playing the spread between their loans and the ones TradeFortress was brokering and thus kept a close eye on them selling off my stake as soon as they became unresponsive.

I’m not lying about anything. Users received every satoshi they should have from me. That is the reason you can’t find these made up victims you talk about. They don’t exist. All communication with pirate was reviewed by investigators far more competent than you and guilty parties were charged while I was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Users received satoshis from his "insurance fund", which is more evidence of his intent to scam.
I don't remember OG being investigated other than a simple tax audit. Pirate did mention coin he sent to OG, which will probably add to the amount he stole.
