As we know as a crypto Community most of people's think that a Bitcoin (any crypto currency) is illegal and scam.
Your first sentence is wrong already.What is your basis that most of the people think that Bitcoin is a scam and illegal?? It will depend on how they introduced it to them and if they did a research on it.
But Now Paypal officially integrated inbuilt features to buy/sell Bitcoin , Etherium , USDT and etc. So It is a great slap to the mostly people who think Crypto is illegal. Now they understand the power of crpyto in upcoming less than 2 years and it will change whole market , the early adopters will take great benefit.
Maybe for those people who saw Bitcoin being used as a tool for scamming and for those people who see Bitcoin being used by criminals then maybe they see it as an illegal thing but for most of the people who are involved in crypto for quite some time already, we know that it isn't a scam at first place. Regarding these companies who are supporting it, its expected already. The crypto industry is booming already and its being known by many people already and in order for them to get some profit at least, they will integrate it into their business like what Paypal did. Holders are now happy
