The unlocking is slow for trading because it actually is decrypting your API keys inside your own browser. We do not store unencrypted API keys, only encrypted ones. When you type in your password, your browser decrypts the API keys and then uses them when placing orders. All orders are actually placed directly from your browser to the exchange API end points. Other platforms actually store your unencrypted API keys in order to place orders using a backend service. This is extremely risky because if they were to get hacked, you can risk losing your entire portfolio.
Having said that, it shouldn't take more than 5-10 seconds. Let me know if that's not the case and we'll check it out.
