I think they are not greedy, they just try to find a way how to get interest of people in cryptocurrency by following the trend.
Although the method is not quite right, maybe it has got some attentions of investors which is better than got nothing.
Who is not greedy? Simply the level of greed can be different. If a possible investor is a smart person, he will be never foolish. He will weigh all pros and cons of the project 10 times before he takes a decision to invest in it a penny.
