Our team will be looking into bech32 after this busy election season. Currently, we have seen less than 0.1% of bech32 addresses accidentally inputted and surprisingly all of them except this one user lost their bet so we haven't been notified until now. In addition, one user tried to use it as a withdrawal address but the system correctly rejected it.
No point spending development resources on something largely unused by the community at this time.

OK, you have the insight into the numbers so I'm not going to argue, although having lower transaction fees alone could be worth it.
