That isn't a surprise, because only a handful of members would closely follow an issue like this--likely senior members, DT members, etc.  I don't think you're applying any logic with this whatsoever, just jumping to wild conclusions that don't make sense and refusing to listen to those members telling you you're wrong, and why.
