Beacon is sent once every 72h.
Did you put in your grc address as the name on the Project Account information?

GPU minable grc and CPU minable grc are completely seperate distribution methods, so the above suggestion would only affect the gpu miners - it's effectively just taxing the gpu miners more.

Even with scrypt sleep, the 1000boinc point average can be acquired almost instantly with gpu miners. The difficulty should be raised to reflect the work load that gpu farms can handle.

On another note - how does cpu mining work? Is it that there are 75,000grc/day being distributed and it's evenly distributed between hosts according to how much boinc points they submit, to a max of 150grc/day per host?

Also, there should be options to both send a cpu mining beacon and to verify cpu mining is operational, because at the moment you've gotta wait 3 days before you know whether or not you've configured gridcoin correctly.

Do you need to set poolmining up for cpumining, or just cpumining=true in gridcoin.conf file?

Hi,

1. The utilization is calculated 50% from what your current CPU utilization is and 50% from your RACs.
2. We basically don't need to modify the 1000 RACs average that you stated because scrypt-sleep takes care of that. If you have a 100% utilization and your scrypt sleep is 50% then your total reward goes down, because you only hash 50% of the time. However, if you do have ~100k RACs, your scrypt sleep is 100% and even though you have the same 100% utilization as the other user, your reward is going to be a lot more because you hash all the time. The more RACs people have, the more RACs will people need to increase their scrypt sleep so they can hash longer and earn more rewards.
3. CPU mining - 576 blocks a day * 150GRC per block = 86400. That is the CPU mining coin cap. One host can earn a maximum of 150GRC/day and users compete with their RACs for the max reward. The more RACs you have, the more GRC you will earn a day up to a maximum of 150GRC/day per host.
4. Once you setup CPU mining and start your wallet, it checks when and if your beacons were sent and if not it sends them. So if you've never mined you don't need to wait 3 days, it sends them ~immediately...and then again after 3 days.
5. Just cpumining=true   poolmining is something different.

Here's a CPU mining tutorial.

Andrew.

Hey,

I double checked against that tutorial you linked, and cpu mining still isn't working.

I've got grc in my balances, i've got the project list set up correctly, changed recieving to default, running boinc and have full boinc utilisation.

I'm not listed in the cpuminerlist output, and none of my computers have been sending beacons at all over the last few days. Is anyone experiencing the same issues?
