Usually the price in the beginning is lower for early supporters and then when project goes on different stages the price goes a bit up. Like that the people who invest first get the most.
You're right, in the start line is the most lower, but there's a project that just give some bonus for early buyer with the same price even if in different stage, it just the bonus is keep decrease at next level. This is why the early investor could be a dangerous people. They have a lot of tokens, which surely can change market conditions.
