You can check if user wasn't active for longer period of time and woke up, someone archived seclog for last 5 years (http://archive.is/https://bitcointalk.org/seclog.php), but, unfortunately, few months are missing.
Or, much easier: LoyceV's seclog log 
User "the joint" isn't in there though.+ Looking through the seklogs, I saw the user "Jetfox", who has 1100 posts in his statistics, but he has only 14 pages of history (277 posts). How is this possible?
Well, it has nothing to do with DT changes, you should have created new topic in meta for this.
I am not a fan of creating threads by little things... and while this thread discusses DT user activity, I took the liberty of asking here as these are rather unusual cases in my opinion.
