https://twitter.com/100trillionUSD/status/1331884814102900737"The Netherlands implemented these laws 2 weeks ago.
You now have to screenshot your wallet when withdrawing bitcoin from Dutch exchanges, easy but annoying. Make sure you vote people in power that protect property rights and bitcoin, and remove people who don't protect freedom."
If these new regulations actually are imposed by Lame Duck Donald's henchmen then so what, its a nothing burger, just screen shot your wallet and call it a day.
Are they serious? Screenshots!? Just after I inadvertently got into a flamewar over this, too. What is that supposed to achieve, which privacy-raping your wallet with a statement of tx data would not?
Why does everyone use screenshots?
PSA: Screenshots are trivial to fake. A screenshot is no better proof than a quote; and a quote is much easier to read. If your word can be trusted about the authenticity of a screenshot, then you can be trusted to provide a quote—whereas if a quote from you is untrustworthy, then so is a screenshot!
The above is a real screenshot, not “Photoshopped”. I produced it with minimal effort by editing the actual webpage, using my browser’s developer tools. Thus, it looks perfect; and nonexistent graphical modifications cannot be detected. That is also how I conveniently crafted
a parody of Jihan’s infamous “fuck your mother” tweet.
For the sake of ocular health and safety,
and to avoid a false sense of security, please stop using screenshots in situations whereby a visual depiction is not required. Thank you.
