what is merged mining? how is different from normal tera mining?
This is an opportunity to use a max hash (hash leader) for two or more blockchains. This allows you to mine multiple blockchains without increasing the power of the hardware responsible for finding the maximum hash.
The same Tera algorithm is used for mining. It was originally designed for such mining.
Now when mining, you specify the number to receive the reward. If the number matches in different blockchains, you can mine several blockchains at once. The number is either an account number (less than 10 characters) or a 10-digit Advanced miner ID.
If we go into more detail: these numbers are used to create tables in memory that are used to search for a hash for a new block. The search itself takes almost no time, so the same table can be used for hundreds of blockchains.
