I have a Zcoin QT Core wallet version 0.14.0.5-4c7291cdb (64-bit). I just installed Firo but it is mnemonic words based and the Zcoin Core wallet was not. Do I have to send coins from the old Zcoin wallet to new Firo wallet to get them in the new wallet?
Did you try inplace upgrade over the last available Zcoin QT wallet?

As always, please backup your wallet prior to updating or testing for safety!
This release renames the default data directory name to .firo and the zcoin.conf file to firo.conf. The rename process is opt-in and will not run unless explicitly set.
If you are using the daemon, start it with:
./firod -migratetofiro
If you are using a custom data directory (-datadir), please migrate manually by renaming zcoin.conf to firo.conf and/or your data directory.
Lelantus is set to activate on block 336888.
We expect there to be minor updates and bug fixes following this release.
