Hi all, not my first post but my original account seems to have been stolen :p
So I have been trying to sync my clam wallet but having little luck. After the bootstrap process I am still 3 years and 43 weeks behind and it looks like I have only processed up to block 1,885,047.
A couple of previous posters had the same problem and their solution was to just keep restarting the clam client until it finally catches up. Problem is, my bootstrap ends and renames to .old, while they don't exactly specify if they went in and renamed it back to .dat and continued importing blocks. Is the advice now to just restart the claimclient when it stops downloading and just p2p it til it's up to date? (assuming their bootstrap renamed to .old and they just synched the rest with network). Would it make more sense for me to find the proper #.dat files that i am missing and just append them to create a new bootstrap that starts where the last one ended?
According to the post, the bootstrap.dat file linked goes up to block 3,089,200 while mine stopped at 1,885,047.
I closed clam client, renamed the bootstrap.dat.old back to bootstrap.dat and launched it again. It started importing blocks, but after a short time it switched back to synchronizing with network, renamed to .old again and is now at block 1,889,433.
I want to assume that the 4,000 +/- additional blocks I got were downloaded and not from the bootstrap.dat file that is supposed to run all the way up to block 3,089,200. Is the bootstrap.dat file linked in this thread corrupt? any help would be appreciated.
