Is there a way to recover them in the future? A possibility could be helpful because this will be really happening and it will go like a thief in the night. It just feels scummy for me that the more bitcoin lost in the cause mentioned above when there could have been ways to prevent them.
Theoretically it's possible if you change Bitcoin protocol to allow spending without private key. Few centralized altcoin (usually stable coin) already do this.
But if it's possible, it will remove bitcoin property where only you (who own the private key) have the control over your Bitcoin and will lead to censorship and theft.
