I think upcoming T-20 WC might change the tide. If India lose then there are high chance of Shastri getting sacked as no one in BCCI holds favorable opinion about him especially Ganguly and everyone might start thinking beyond Kohli in the limited over cricket.

Kohli is panuti when it comes to big tournaments be it Champions trophy final, Semis of WC and almost every season of IPL.

Ganguly and the other BCCI officials have avoided open confrontation with Kohli, who has a reputation of being short-tempered. So I am not sure there will be any change, even if they perform poorly during the T20 World Cup. Selecting a coach, who doesn't dance to the tunes of Kohli will be huge. Attempts were made earlier, but they were not successful.

If they are not reaching in Semis then i think this time voice against Virat's captaincy going to be very loud and rightly so. We are surely going to see some drastic changes in the support staff if Virat fail to produce some result as Captain.

Virat's captaincy is not good as like Dhoni, but still, Virat is a good captain. If the players of the team fail to perform well, no matter how good the captain is, the team will not win. India has successfully completed the T20 series. Let's see what the results of the test series are.

This up coming twenty/20 world cup is going to be very cruicial for Virat Kohli and Shastri because if they fail to produce any good result then surely both are going to be in hot water as many baord officials are going to against them and this can create some serious trouble for both these now time for them to bring some big silverware back at home for own safety.
