I'm sure he's a very nice guy, but that's not the issue.

The problem is no-one has faith in this or any other coin as a legitimate fiat alternative and national currency, especially a "nation" that is an enclave of the states and is, at the end of the day, under States federal rule.

This is far too premature, crypto has a long way to go with a few squabbles on the way - it certainly isn't going to rise in the USA, the home of the default currency.

I can see progress bring made in this direction in South America perhaps, maybe even Scandinavia or a few Asian countries, but not America, they won't stand for it.

Like I said, there are other currencies worth a lot more with a higher stake in them... none of them are 100%, so if this isn't it doesn't matter. At least the person making it is probably, out of all of the coins aside bitcoin devs, the only one who months down the line won't sack it off and just cash in, and just continue to fight until he's thrown into jail and the campaigns accross America spring up. Speaking of, have no idea how media and celebrities in particular (because you know some of those "cool" celebs will get involved) - how much fire is could cause. The public stepped up in America for the rights and liberties of African Americans, why wouldn't there be backing for helping the Native Americans.

Again with "America not standing crypto"... I honestly hear otherwise. Some senators want a ban on it. But the US has 600,000+ BTC from silk road alone, they have previously banned an online commidty (e-gold) and thrown the creators without due trial straight into jail... not with bitcoin. Honestly are these reports of different US areas accepting bitcoin and using ATMs etc all lies and photoshopped pics? :s

P.S How powerful are the casinos in regards to federal interference? I don't live there and play those casinos (yet) but I get an overwhelming sense from docs and movies/news I've seen in my life that it isn't so easy for the USA to drive in and start making demands...

Good points, but you forget a few things.

The banks have overwhelming influence on the American government in particular. At the first hint of crypto eating into their profits they are going to kick back, and kick back very, very hard - the NRA will seem like pussycats in comparison.

In fact. this is already happening with stories such as the Rabobank one a few months ago. It is a sure fire bet that the banks (not the government as some hat-wearers argue) are already manipulating the markets to prevent stability and increase paranoia.

One point I was trying to get across is that Lakota will have to pay various bills to the federal government. The Gov. is not going to accept Maza, but is going to be able to manipulate Maza to make it impossible to use as a blanket currency.

I'm not dissing the guy, I'm not anti-abortion and I don't eat children, but I can view things without emotion (which can seem hard nosed) and this coin is not "the coin". The whole price was predicated on some momentary news coverage, but that coverage is finished now, everybody knows about Maza now - that's why the price stalled on Cryptsy. This has happened before, Sexcoin, Earthcoin, Maxcoin are all recent examples.

The coin that makes it is not going to jump out of nowhere with 1000% gains, it is going to creep up on us - if it ever happens at all.

I wish this could succeed, I have always championed the underdog being one myself - but this is the one.

I would also say that the cries for a pump does rather undermine the character of the coin, all this stuff gets noticed.

- Banks have power yes. Do you think a none fiat currency to be used for impoverished population of 100-200,000 people is going to eat away the banks profits from the 300+million strong nation? Casinos are a different matter but a different argument too.

- Yes many start up currencies and ideas have existed, like I said the US shutdown e-gold, but haven't made any move on bitcoin. Mazacoin like them all is decentralized so for one it is hard to stop them using it like it is hard for them to start Americans using bitcoins right? Unless they want to impose on the Native Americans and force them to do things... sure that will go down well in the media of this decade.

- If the government was serious about destroying it, they do have 600,000+ after all, and if they weren't interested in bitcoin existing they could pretty much quash the coin to nothing for a whole month, would probably be cheaper than the whole path of "stop the lakota using crpyto" which would indeed be expensive to pull off if these people start using it.

- I agree this isn't the kind of coin that will leap up and down, but in other arguments it could be (as this is a true "reach for freedom" people may buy into it who never usually considered bitcoin e.g sympathetic celebs and bagholders) and I personally am happy with just a small return, I would love to see this crypto cause something to happen in the real world over there, change for better. Would set a great example to the other nations on how to avoid being bled dry by other countries packed with business men with 60 years plus of immoral cut throat experience. Oh those bastards!
