I have an $8/month ProtonVPN subscription for 5 devices, it lets me connect to most of the countries in the world which is handy not only for circumvention also if a site is region blocked for some odd reason. It's very cheap and they also take bitcoin payments. They even have a free version but there are much less servers available to connect to. The ones that are available are naturally congested with traffic but you can find a couple of Plus servers that have a low utilization.
No where free and best can be clubbed; if you look for free VPN services then you need to compromise your expectations.
I have been using private internet access for years and it is comparatively best VPN service provider for cheaper prices.
Private Internet Access sold itself to a spyware company so I would not trust that VPN not to gather your personal information any more.
