A lovely good morning Bitcoinland.

Another day another ATH... currently $24080USD/$30795CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Go Bitcoin go.

Getting close to thinking of taking a little profit in the form of 100 acres of prime forested property with 1500 feet of lake frontage, ten minutes from a major hospital and about an hour and a half from downtown Toronto. Under 23 bitcoins at current prices.

Thank you Bitcoin.

Hey JimboToronto, I spent a lot of time up there, years back.  Family friends had property on that very lake.  It's a great lake, close to a great little city with everything you might need but I would be very careful with that particular piece of property.  I remember years ago a man tried to build a cottage in a very similar location on that same lake but was stopped and forced to remove what he had constructed and return the area to its previous state.  It was the talk of the lake that someone would have the audacity to do such a thing in violation of the law.   I can't say I'm 100% certain it was that exact property but almost the entire west side of that lake is in an Environmental Protection One zone.  There's virtually no way you're going to be allowed to build on it.

Wow. Thanks for the heads up Homer.

I was a little hesitant to post that picture but I'm glad I did. I was wondering why it was so cheap considering its hard to get a house in Toronto for less than a million or a decent cottage that close to the city for less than a couple million.

It might not necessarily be a problem. I spent 25 years using a trailer on 50 acres of rented maple sugar bush in Oro as my country getaway.

I eventually had 3 trailers and a wolmanized, galvanized outhouse/generator shed with the complete blessings of the municipality. All the trailers were on a high bank overlooking a fairly substantial creek with waterfall. All they cared about was that everything was "portable" with no foundations and that no one was living there full time. When the land owner gave them my address in the city, that was that.

My only real problem was security. I considered converting an intermodal shipping container into a "mobile" home by torching in Lexan MR-10 windows and setting it on railway ties. Unfortunately the owner died and the estate sold the property.

As you can see by this picture, the present owner of this lakefront spread seems to have a trailer there already:

Being in an Environmental Protection One zone would actually be good for me as I prefer a natural undisturbed environment.

I'd like to be able to bring in hydro though. Maintaining and fueling a generator is a hassle. I'd love to relegate my Honda to backup duty.

I obviously have lots of research to do.

Thanks again.
