According to charts of altcoins from 2017-2018 altmarket hits those big numbers months later than Bitcoin.
So its not surprising at all that we don't see a lot of new ATH right now
I don't think that the pattern from 2017 is going to repeat. Many of the altcoins are in very bad shape, and Bitcoin has a market share of 66.7% currently. And this has occurred despite the listing of several new altcoins recently, such as Polkadot, Chainlink and Crypto.com Coin. The current rally has occurred mostly due to the mainstream adoption of Bitcoin. Altcoins have played no part in this.
