Ahhh, I must have missed that post. Is there a reason not to mine scrypt coins with them then?
Besides the fact that it's impossible? All the mining FPGAs were made for SHA256 hashing only.
FPGAs are programmables
Last I checked, Scrypt mining requires quite a bit of onboard RAM. FPGA miners did not have that.
Yes it does, plus he would have to reprogram them for scrypt. And while I have no doubt he is fully capable of that, why would he spend the time doing that when the power usage on those fpgas is likely through the roof compared to the newest gpus.
