I think that's a good timeframe for most projects. If they will stay up to 4 years then they will able to survive for the longer term. Most projects are only showing their goodness at the beginning but being forgotten what they've showed to their investors.
Real use is no longer appropriate to them as long as they deliver their token into an exchange and become tradable. That bear market on 2018 have extinguished a lot of tokens that really have no usable purpose.
They have survival certificates and senior investors know what to do when the altcoin season comes.
I never care of the goodness at beginnings. Every projects say good words about their products, development plans and future speculation. Real projects or scam projects, it is the words PR teams will do. What I pay attention on is after 3 months to 6 months, if one project shows activities and works, I will follow them more and might invest.
I agree. Only Bitcoin has gained the new all time high during the bullrun but I think we need to wait until year ends if a new record will soon be happening. Altcoins did not make it really on it's original ATH way back 2017 and for me it is too hard for them to set a new record this year.
Altcoins already have good rallies and the price charts don't lie. They rallied very much from their bottoms in 2018 and 2019. It is only a matter of loss in BTC values and if you are considering their all time high prices.
This high dominance of bitcoin is due to the XRP dump, which lost about 70% of its value. Now only the price of BTC remains stable due to the fact that money received from the sale of altcoins is invested in it. In my opinion, the dominance of BTC can decrease to 64%, which will lead to an increase in the price of altcoins.
Ripple only rocked 4 weeks ago and rallied from that peak it was dumped in 4 weeks to today crash. The FUD on Ripple is not a surprise if look at how Ripple rose in 2 weeks. Bitcoin domination on the market is affected not only by Ripple but by some other top altcoins. I agree, however, the crash of Ripple contributed a bit.
