I have updated the GUI from 0.17.1.1 to 0.17.1.4 and now when I launch it
I have the warning:
"Wallet is not connected to daemon"
And then:
"Daemon failed to start
Timed out, local node is not responding after 120 seconds.
Please check your wallet and daemon log for errors. You can also start to try monerod.exe manually"
Why is that?

Have you already tried rebooting your system? Also, do you use a custom data directory for the blockchain?
So yes the data directory for the blockchain is not at the same place because my C:\ hard drive is an SSD which is full, so it looks like the blockchain data went to D:\bitmonero\
So what should I do, reinstall everything on my D:\ hard drive? But since it is not a SSD, the synchronisation will take forever
