That "very old thread" is a link to what is confirmed. It's the OP of the ETN [ANN] thread. I put it there because the Omnipotent post above said there was a Superbowl Ad, and there is not an actual announcement for that.

Does it really necessary to post a whole announcement thread here? Can't you make a post with the thread link? This is one kind of spam I think. Or you may quote some important part of the post if necessary.

I think your post belongs to an irrelevant and advertising category which should consider spam. It will discourage other users to read your post, to be honest.
I can respect that you feel that way.
