The economy probably would crash but no so quickly and drastically without covid. Also, it doesn't matter whether you are hard worker or not, you have to be a smart worker! People were working hard centuries ago when they were slaves, yeah, there were working very hard but their quality of life was the lowest while it was highest for those who were just relaxing most of the times. It happened because they were working smartly, yeah, it's bad what was happening but in word "smart" I mean that they were able to make some people slaves, work them and get a huge profit. Today isn't very different from that past, we are still slaves. When you work in Amazon and Jeff Bezos is doing billions, it's no different from the past.
