It is pretty clear by now that Ethereum actually is a threat to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
The egalitarian mining/validation of blocks is one of the last "thorn in their eye".
Their whole philosophy stinks, you can tell by the changes they make which is ever so slightly more against people.
To put it in religious terms and I'm not religious
"Bitcoin is the saviour and ethereum the antichrist/deceiver".
PS: Of course im mining eth as hard as I can since its inception

they are moving to pos (centralized ownership by large holders ... like dev) now this eip 1559 to completely end casual mining for minimal profit afer 2 years of negative mining profits shows where this is going. Unfortunately this seems to be where all blockchains are going now, why pay miners anything when you can just go pos and keep all the profits in your own pocket
