I think that just even in a mere post, a link on its own immediately raises questions as to why there is no context to it. Even if it's relevant to the topic of discussion.

By the way, OP, your title thread is "Posting a single link without comment: Spam or not Spam?" but in your poll, the answers are Yes or No. That's a little bit confusing.
Yeah, I've clarified it, changed to "Is it spam?". But I think "Spam or not Spam" where we can answer "Yes" (it's spam) or "No" (it's no spam) is also clear.

And yes, I've also voted for yes (it's spam) because posting a link without any comment is extremely low-effort. I would like to know where a linked article is about, explained in own words by the poster, at least a few sentences, possibly sometimes shorter, to get at least a hint if it's worth clicking.
It's also very unpolite to just spam a link, like "read it yourself". Finally, Bitcointalk is a discussion forum but many don't care, unfortnately.  Undecided
