Satoshi is just a name I originally came up with the name to hide myself from everyone. I wanted Bitcoin to succeed so I could use it to buy shoes and other stuff online that I didn't have money for. This was a selfish ambition but without that vision Bitcoin would not exist. Satoshi's name was taken directly from Pokemon creator, Satoshi Tajiri. Remember I was a heavy gamer so this makes sense. And my identity needed a Japanese last name so I decided on Yamamoto then Yamamoto then Yakamoto became finally Nakamoto. I was and still am a huge fan of Japanese culture so decided it was a fitting disguise. Which became my greatest decision and greatest failure.

If I would have used my real name do you think Bitcoin would have gotten accepted?

I needed help getting bitcoin's software so I believe I made the best decision for myself at that time. What I failed to do is let my inner circle know who I was after the project was completed.
