No one knows who is Satoshi. He just logged off from the forum and never went back in. Most of the people believe that he/she/they did that for the obvious reasons. He never revealed anything about himself/herself/themselves and is known that he/she/they mined thousands of blocks back in 2009/2010. Although, we haven't seen any transactions from those old blocks so these bitcoins are most likely gone.

welcoming message. Although the domain was forum.bitcoin.org back then. Later someone from the admins bought it.
