It kind of reminds me of Toilet paper Token that was also listed sometime back when Toilet paper became popular due to COVID19 
I don't think you can compare these situations, since the joke with Toilet Paper was timed to the first of April, and today's gesture is addressed to financial institutions, and it has a pretty clear context.
