So let's assume that was to happen anytime in the future, that a project with such potential to overtake bitcoin in terms of market cap. That coin is yet to be developed as none of the current projects has it in them to overthrown bitcoin not even Ethereum or USDT. The adoption rate if bitcoin is far above any cryptocurrency in existence.

Only the government or government backed project can achieve this milestone. There was a time when the Libra project was making wave and I thought that was the best that could have overthrown bitcoin in market cap since facebook already has trillions in store. But fortunately that project die off the radar.

Any project with such potential has to be a stablecoin as no coin with volatility can outperformed bitcoin in market cap irrespective of whatever the project claim to offer.
