ETH market sure is gaining a lot of momentum because of DeFi projects actually. They have reached multiple ATH in this early 2021. Volumes will keep rising as they managed to launch ETH 2.0 soon.
Not to mention that Ethereum last broke its transaction fee record a month ago on Jan. 11, hitting an average $19 per transaction. Current values double the peak transaction fees recorded during "DeFi Summer" of 2020. Also the price went high despite amid predictions that an impending supply shortage will force the price up even higher.
The market surge has been boosted by increased institutional interest during the pandemic, which has seen major investors turn to cryptocurrency in an effort to diversify their portfolios during a time or economic uncertainty.
