as we all know merit is a reflection of good posts on this forum
Not even close... that was the "theory"... the reality is far, far different. Honestly, in my opinion, for what it is worth... merit is one of the most useless metrics of "post quality" on this forum. Aside from the complete subjectivity of what someone believes to be a "good" post, it's been "abused" and "sold" too much for it to be of any true value in determining "post quality"
I must say i totally agree, before i stop spamming this thread.
In addition to the notion of subjectivity, and disregarding some potential merits shenanigans, merit sources can also 'reward' a regularity of post (in small and not very active local sections for example) even when merited posts aren't A++ quality
. That's how i feel.
