It is not like you will be making a payment of BTC0.0001 (with a fees of around 400% of that amount) everytime you take a ride with Uber. They have their own payment gateway called Uber Pay. You can load the Uber Pay wallet with $100 or whatever amount of your choice. Right now they don't allow us to load the wallet with BTC, but according to the statement by Khosrowshahi, that's going to change. The transaction fee is still a concern, but not as much as the case when you need to pay everytime you book a ride.

A lot of people are currently using Bitcoin to pay Uber, but in an indirect manner. First they need to purchase Uber gift cards using BTC or some other cryptocurrency from various providers and then they need to use these gift cards to make payments in Uber. What Uber is proposing right now is to eliminate these intermediaries and make the payment directly with BTC. It is going to be beneficial for both the sides.
