Keeping the fund idle wont help you. But if you can lend it then it will help you. But do not lend it to someone from whom you cant get your bitcoin return.
I am not a loan shark and I do not want to get more that what is usual, and I am not a stupid either to do it for free, so some small interest as return sounds ok.
It is good, you may take fair interest from them.
The question is, what is to be considered a fair interest per month? for bitcoin?
I think 1 to 5% interest is fair for bitcoin.
