and how do you guys store these smaller coins? as we all know most exchanges are not safe. I have lost over 15 BTC in various exchanges or trading platforms 
Safe the coins on your own your wallet, remember not your keys is not your coins.
I have use Trust Wallet as the simple one for a long time until now, more secure ways is use Hardware Wallet like trezor and then keep it disconnected most of the time.
