We have seen the weak response of the United States in the Myanmar coup and some of the countries where there was a military coup. The United States merely imposed sanctions and expressed concern.

It is not general rule, but when they don't react to military coup, it means it is instructed by the US
And if sanctions are not meant for pressure, than they must be some sort of gift that US is giving to it's enemies.
