I don't think Polkadot is the most important Blockchain after Ethereum but if you compare from the view point of scalability, i will say it's better than Ethereum so far. We have to bear in mind that, Polkadot is not unique. We have few other options in hands like-Avalance, Chainlink so Polkadot isn't unique.
