It's obvious by now, the Lakers are weak and they have been exposed big time. Lebron is not getting any younger although he can still play like it used to be, sooner or later that wear and tear will come into the picture. So no rest for him, means more trouble for the Lakers until Davis play.
It's true that Davis being injured means more play time for Lebron, but looking at the current minutes played per game, on average he is spenging approximately court than the previous season, and with every passing year he keeps lowering the minutes, which is logical since he is not getting any younger. This season average is 34.8, last season 34.6, so not a significant increase.
I think they can still make the playoffs, but they are going to drop in the standing and will not be the favourite to win back-to-back.
There is no question whether Lakers make the playoff, but from which sport they will start the playoff. I don't really think that they can go below 3rd position as Suns are kinda overachiving at the moment. All this can change though is Gof forbid LeBron gets injured. But as long as they are healthy when playoff starts, it's pretty much all same for them, no matter the spot.
