I recommend to OP that simply put resources into what you can bear and hang tight for the benefit will come.
Everyone has their considerations and priorities, I'm sure the OP has its own considerations, 
if someone is prone to panic and does not understand analytical techniques then it is better to trade long term, so when the market is dump or correction you will remain relaxed because you know where the market trend is going.
Don't be too pushy if you can't afford to trade short term, because trading long term is not a bad decision, and in fact many big players prefer to hold for the long term rather than the short term.
