I think that there's better chance to not be that much connected to Bitcoin.
I think that he or somebody close to him is just in the phase where one thinks that "Bitcoin is cool".
I think that (as others said) if he would be a HODLer, he would be afraid of the 5$ wrench and would rather not wear that t-shirt.
