I think the eth network lately has been kind; all you have to do is monitor the gwei and ensure you know the normal rates before conducting a transaction on the etherum network. One thing i have also noticed is that the fee charged is less than the fee displayed. Yesterday for example, it requested 40$ balance to make a transaction and only 9$ got charged.
